      • JOB SUMMARY
        The City of Los Santos is seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join our team as Municipal Code Enforcement Officers. These officers play a crucial role in maintaining the safety, quality of life, and adherence to municipal codes and regulations within the community. As a Municipal Code Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing local ordinances, conducting investigations, and ensuring compliance through education, inspection, and, if necessary, enforcement.
      • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
        Example of duties you are required to perform:
        • Enforce municipal, commercial, and licensing codes, as well as other local ordinances to maintain community standards and safety.
        • Conduct field inspections of buildings, vehicles, and other properties to identify violations.
        • Issue warnings, citations, and notices of violation in accordance with established procedures.
        • Investigate complaints from residents and businesses regarding alleged code violations and work to resolve these issues.
        • Collaborate with other city departments, such as law enforcement, fire departments, and public works to address complex cases.
        • Provide information and educate property owners, tenants, and the public about local codes and regulations to promote compliance.
        • Maintain accurate records and documentation of inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions.
        • Engage in proactive code enforcement efforts to improve the overall quality of the community.
        • Other tasks as assigned.
        REQUIREMENTS
        • Applicants are required to be 21 years of age at the time of application;
        • Applicants are required to possess a valid driver's license within the State of San Andreas;
        • Applicants are required to be a graduate of a United States High School or G.E.D equivalent;
        • Applicants are required to have no criminal history beyond civil/traffic infractions;
        • Applicants must be eligible to obtain the sworn peace officer certification.
        • Physical fitness and the ability to perform field inspections, which may involve walking, climbing, and occasional lifting.
        • (( Applicants must be able to roleplay in a realistic fashion and display proper character development; ))
        • (( Applicants must not have a recent or excessive admin record on any character. Recent is typically defined as one month/30 days, with excessive records being determined case-to-case; ))
        • (( Applicants must not be actively banned from any of the official legal factions within LS-RP; ))
        EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
        • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D. Applicants are required to maintain fluent communicative skills within the English language, both written and verbal. Previous experience is not required.
          KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS
          • Understanding of law enforcement principles, practices, and procedures, including search and seizure, evidence handling, and legal standards for enforcement actions. Proficiency in investigative techniques, including conducting interviews, gathering evidence, and documenting findings to build a strong case for enforcement actions. Skills to de-escalate confrontational situations and resolve disputes professionally and effectively. The ability to communicate and engage with property owners, tenants, and the public, providing education and information on local codes and regulations. Proficient record-keeping skills to maintain accurate and organized documentation of inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions. Knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to assess potential safety hazards during inspections.
        • PROCESS
          • Application — Applicants are reviewed and subjected to a background check, the applicant will proceed to the next step if they meet the minimum requirements.
          • Interview — Upon meeting all the requirements and passing the first stage, the candidate is invited to a verbal interview, the test may have multiple steps. All candidates will be carefully evaluated and only those considered best qualified will be invited to the next step of the employment process.
          • Academy — Training & education provided according to POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) materials.
          • Examination — After the training, all candidates must take a written exam from the information provided during the academy. Failing the exam may and will result in a dismissal from the Department.
          • Field Training Program — Upon passing the examination, applicants will be enrolled in the Field Training Program where they will work with experienced Officers and gain field knowledge and experience. After 2 weeks, the recruits will partake in their evaluation patrol with a Division Manager.
          • Employment offer — Upon successfully completing the evaluation patrol, the Trainee will be offered a full-time employment contract and assigned as an Officer within the Bureau of Municipal Code Enforcement.
