AN ACT TO CODIFY THE PROVISIONS CONTAINED WITHIN
Commercial Highway Safety Act

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF SAN ANDREAS DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:


SECTION I. DEFINITIONS
  • This document may use terms and phrases that may have ambiguous meaning. This section will describe the exact meaning of certain terms and phrases.
  1. "Cargo" is defined as goods and objects carried within any hold, bulk or space of a vehicle with the intent of transporting such goods and objects for any commercial gain, monetary or otherwise
  2. "CDL" is a State of San Andreas Commercial Driver's License obtained from the San Andreas Department of Motor Vehicles
  3. "Hazardous materials" includes, but is not limited to, the following cargo classes:
    1. Explosive
    2. Corrosive
    3. Poison
    4. Inhalation hazard
    5. Radioactive
    6. Infectious substance
    7. Oxidizer

SECTION II. PROHIBITIONS AND POLICIES
  1. A person transporting cargo must not transport cargo which the weight and class of materials being transported does not apply to their CDL
  2. A person transporting cargo must pull over at a weighing station and surrender their cargo for weighing if directed to by signage, an officer of the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department, or an officer of the City of Los Santos Department of Public Works & Transportation.
  3. A person transporting cargo must not have a blood-alcohol volume of more than 0.04% at any time during their route, including during rest stops.
  4. A person transporting cargo must not exceed a driving time of 8 hours or more, including rest stops, without adequate sleep between journeys.
  5. A person transporting cargo that contains hazardous materials is required to announce that their cargo includes such hazardous materials when interacting with a peace officer or City of Los Santos agent, or at any weighing station.
  6. A person transporting cargo that contains hazardous materials is required to reasonably use highways, industrial thoroughfares and high-traffic roads (at least 4-lane) where possible.
  7. A person transporting cargo that contains hazardous materials must not pass through residential areas in their route to their destination.

SECTION III. ENFORCEMENT
  1. The enforcement of the above prohibitions and policies shall be carried out in reference to the COMMERCIAL CODE
  2. A CDL holder may receive a maximum of THREE Commercial Code penalties in a 3-month period. Any CDL holder that exceeds this maximum limit within a 3-month period will have their CDL revoked and suspended for 14 days.
